One guy. Too many guitars. Not enough reasons to shut up.
Billie Bends is the musical alter-ego and one-man nostalgia noise machine by Jake Warren — the songwriter, guitarist, and singer who writes loud melodic songs inspired by the radio rock tunes of the 90's and 2000's. The sound is a careful blend of overdriven Marshall amps, adult-onset anxiety, and a general disdain for the workaholic monoculture in North America. Between the power chords and broken hearts lies a place that feels like getting punched in the face and kissed by your high school crush at the same time.
As a member of the last generation with memories of a life before the internet, it is the duty of Billie Bends to remind us all to follow dreams, question the status quo, and uphold the significance of play in our everyday lives. Billie Bends only exists because Jake decided to play again.
By tackling heavy themes of mental health, broken promises, addiction, and digital alienation head-on, Bends creates uncompromising music for a generation navigating the quiet desperation of those seeking purpose in the tech obsessed era.
During the summer of 2020, Jake began playing guitar after taking a 10-year hiatus from the instrument. That summer was also filled with chemotherapy treatments for a Lymphoma diagnosis. Relearning to play the guitar became a low-energy way to pass the time and a channel for the year's intense emotional experiences.
From 2021 - 2025, Jake began writing more original tunes, and by the beginning of 2026, he had a collection of 6 songs ready for the studio.
"Hannah," the first Billie Bends EP, is slated for release in October 2026.
